For this photo assignment I decided to try out light painting. I tried it earlier but it just didn't work out. This time still did not turn out how I wanted it to, but it turned out much better than the first time I tried it! original photoedited photoEXPOSURE TRIANGLE ISO:200 Aperture:F5.0 Shutter speed:13 what i learnedI learned how to light paint! Its actually fairly simple once you figure it out. It took me a little bit, but you just have to set the shutter speed long and paint with light!

For this assignment I was taking the photos in the morning so the lighting was super weird. When I first started to take photos it was a little dark out so I adjusted the settings to make the photos look good with the lighting I had. Then before I knew it the lighting had completely changed and the photos weren't looking great anymore. So I did not get a lot of good ones, but I worked with what I had! I used photo shop to try and cover up some of the blurriness. original photoedited photoEXPOSURE TRIANGLE ISO:2000 Aperture:F22.0 Shutter speed:1/13 what i learnedI learned during this assignment how to really adjust the depth of field. I normally never really had to adjust that too much, and I tried to avoid it because I wasn't good at it. But this time I actually had to learn because some photos I had a short depth of field and some I had a long one.
For this photo assignment I was going to attempt the light painting, but then I ran into issues and ended up having to go to work before I could work through them. I never got a chance to go back to the light painting because of my brothers birthday. So I figured he is the reason why I never got back to light painting so why not make him the subject of my new photo assignment. However he is a very difficult person to get to do what you want, so I had several issues with that. I also could not get him to put down a soccer ball long enough to actually take a photo, so I included it in the photos. Original photoedited photoEXPOSURE TRIANGLE ISO:2000 Aperture:F18.0 Shutter speed:1/250 what i learnedWhile taking these photos I had several lighting issues. It was simply just too dark, so as I was adjusting shutter speed and aperture it was not fixing the problem. But there was a simple fix, flash! I also ran into a lot of issues with digital noise. I really have never ran into a digital noise issue before. So this was a interesting adventure trying to figure it out. This assignment really taught me how to work with ISO.
My brothers are always playing soccer so I thought why not take photos of it! But when I told him I was going to take pictures of him playing soccer he just would not slow down and kept going everywhere so It took me awhile to actually get pictures of him. original photoEdited photoEXPOSURE TRIANGLE ISO:2000 Aperture:F5.0 Shutter speed:1/8000 what i learnedI had struggles when I started because I was inside and since the shutter speed had to be so fast the photos were turning out super dark. So I went outside to fix this issue!
This week I was super busy because I was out of town all weekend so I had no time to take pictures. Luckily I planned ahead because I knew this weekend was coming up. So in the past few photo assignments I took extras I knew could be used as black and white EXPOSURE TRIANGLE ISO:2000 Aperture:F16.0 Shutter speed:1/1600 What i learnedIf you just take a photo and turn it black and white the colors look off. So you have to do some adjustments to the levels, brightness and contrast.
During this photo assignment I was trying to take a photo of subjects that I arranged, kinda like an advertising type of picture. I used studio lighting techniques to create a different look on the photo. EXPOSURE TRIANGLE ISO:2000 Aperture:F14.0 Shutter speed:1/125 what i learnedDuring this photo assignment I learned how to set up objects and take photos to make them more pleasing to the eye. I also learned how to show the objects from a different perspective to make the photo stand out more.
During this photo assignment I was trying to capture my dogs personality. She is a very energetic and and happy dog. She loves playing in the water, especially on a hot day. I thought that this photo describes her so well! EXPOSURE TRIANGLE ISO:2000 Aperture:F16.0 Shutter speed:1/1600 What i learnedDuring this assignment I used my mom's camera for the first time, and I learned how it works. It is very different then the ones we use in class, so it took awhile but I eventually got it. When taking these photos I had several issues because I could not get her to stop moving. She kept running around and going in the shade so all photos were turning out blurry. But then I decided to shorten the shutter speed length to create a more crisp photo.
